Privacy-first by design.
Privacy Policy for Atoll. Effective date: May 18, 2026.
Open Source Commitment
Atoll is open source. Its code is available for review in the Ebullioscopic/Atoll GitHub repository, so users, contributors, and security researchers can inspect how the app behaves.
No Personal Information Collection
Atoll does not require an account, login, registration, or personal profile. It does not collect names, email addresses, contacts, files, documents, device usage history, or behavioral analytics.
No Telemetry, Analytics, or Tracking
Atoll does not include telemetry platforms, advertising frameworks, tracking identifiers, third-party analytics SDKs, or background behavioral monitoring.
Local-First Operation
Core Atoll functionality runs locally on your Mac. The app does not use proprietary backend infrastructure for personalization, profiling, inference, or cloud processing.
Optional Weather Services
If weather features are enabled, Atoll may request weather information from wttr.in and Open-Meteo. Those requests are used only to show weather inside Atoll. Atoll does not store weather location data or use it for advertising or profiling.
Software Updates
Atoll uses Sparkle for macOS update checks. Sparkle may contact the project release repository to determine update availability and may send limited technical information such as the current app version and compatibility details needed to deliver updates.
No Additional Data Sharing
Aside from optional weather requests and update checks, Atoll does not transmit user data to external servers or third-party services.
Changes and Contact
Policy updates may be published through the official website or GitHub repository. For questions, feedback, security concerns, or contributions, visit the Atoll repository.
